Dr. Frédéric Döhl, Ass. iur., is a musicologist and lawyer. He is currently working as a postdoctoral research assistant in the team of Prof. Albrecht Riethmüller at the Department of Musicology and at the Collaborative Research Centre 626 “Aesthetic Experience and the Dissolution of Artistic Limits” at the Free University Berlin, where he is responsible for the sub-project “Composing with Referential Material: Procedures and Repercussions.” He has published two monographs (that old barbershop sound. Die Entstehung einer Tradition amerikanischer A-cappella-Musik, Stuttgart: Franz Steiner Verlag 2009; André Previn.
