Franziska Karpinski completed her undergraduate degree in American Studies and Modern European History at the Free University Berlin before receiving her MA in Genocide and Holocaust Studies at the University of Amsterdam in 2012. Her main research interests include the history and dynamics of mass political violence and genocide in twentieth century Europe, with an emphasis on perpetrator research. She was an intern at the GHI between October and December 2012.
