Elisabeth Gallas is a Minerva Research Fellow at the Avraham Harman Institute of Contemporary Jewry at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. She studied cultural studies and German literature at the University of Leipzig and sociology at the University of Copenhagen, and received her PhD in Modern History from the University of Leipzig/Simon Dubnow Institute for Jewish History and Culture in 2011. Her thesis was published in summer 2013:“Das Leichenhaus der Bücher” Kulturrestitution und jüdisches Geschichtsbewusstsein nach 1945 (Vandenhoeck & Ruprecht).
