
Barbara Louis (Reiterer)
Barbara Louis (Reiterer) was a Doctoral Fellow in Residence at the German Historical Institute from September 2010 to August 2012, and is still affiliated with the project. She studied sociology at the University of Vienna, where she worked as a researcher in social gerontology for several years.
Barbara Louis (Reiterer) was a Doctoral Fellow in Residence at the German Historical Institute from September 2010 to August 2012, and is still affiliated with the project. She studied sociology at the University of Vienna, where she worked as a researcher in social gerontology for several years. In addition, she worked on projects with the Paul F. Lazarsfeld papers and the Paul M. Neurath papers at the University of Vienna as a researcher as well as an archivist. She is currently a Ph.D. candidate in the Program in History of Science, Technology, and Medicine at the University of Minnesota. Located at the intersection of her main research interests (history of the social sciences, gender and science, and history of migration), her dissertation investigates the lives and careers of Central European women social scientists who immigrated to the United States around World War Two. Louis holds a fellowship with the Botstiber Institute for Austrian-American Studies for the academic year 2012–13 and currently resides in Vienna, Austria.
