In this letter to Ise Gropius, wife of fellow Bauhaus architect Walter Gropius, Marcel Breuer outlines his plans to immigrate to the United States together with Herbert Bayer. Walter Gropius helped facilitate the transatlantic emigration of several of his former Bauhaus colleagues, and centers such as the Black Mountain College, where Josef Albers and Xanti Schawinsky were teaching, provided networking opportunities for the new arrivals.
