Lazarsfeld's Rockefeller Application (draft, c. 1932)
Draft of Lazarsfeld's Grant Application to Rockefeller, c. 1932
Paul Lazarsfeld came to the United States in 1933 on a Rockefeller Foundation fellowship. In this application, he outlines his experiences as a social and market researcher in Vienna as well as his plans for traveling to various American institutions over the course of his fellowship. This trip – which ultimately became a permanent move – marks the beginning of his transatlantic networking in the world of market research.
